1. Who we are
Pausera is a private journaling and reflection app. This policy explains what information Pausera collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is maintained by the Pausera team and last updated on August 2, 2026.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, and the name or avatar shared by Google or Apple if you sign in with them.
- Profile preferences: display name, optional phone number, notification and Kenji settings you choose in the app.
- Journal content: reflections, mood logs, prompts, tags, and any other text you write in Pausera.
- AI interactions: the entries or questions you submit for a Kenji insight, and the responses generated for you.
- Subscription data: your plan status and the Apple or Stripe transaction identifiers needed to keep it in sync. We never see or store your full payment card details.
- Support and diagnostics: bug reports you send, plus basic technical logs such as timestamps and error details used to keep the service running.
3. How we use your information
- To create your account, sign you in, and keep your journal available across your devices.
- To generate Kenji insights and reflections that you explicitly request.
- To apply free and Premium limits correctly and to manage subscriptions, renewals, and restores.
- To send service messages such as sign-in confirmations, password resets, and account notices.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the reliability of the app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your journal entries for advertising.
4. Service providers
Pausera relies on a small number of processors to operate. Each receives only the data needed for its function:
- Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and file storage for your account and journal data.
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit) and Stripe — subscription purchases, renewals, and billing status.
- AI model providers — process the text you submit for a Kenji insight in order to return a response. Requests are made solely to fulfil your request.
- Email delivery and hosting providers — deliver transactional email and serve the app.
- Termly — powers our cookie consent banner and privacy request form.
5. Cookies and analytics
Pausera uses cookies and similar storage that are strictly necessary to sign you in and remember your preferences, along with a consent banner where required. You can review details in our Cookie Policy and change your choices at any time from the consent banner.
6. Data retention
We keep your account and journal content for as long as your account is active. Deleting an entry removes it from your journal; deleting your account removes your profile, entries, mood logs, and insights, except where we must keep limited billing or security records to meet legal obligations.
7. Security
- Access to your data is protected by authenticated sessions and per-user database access rules, so one account cannot read another account's entries.
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with our hosting provider's encryption at rest.
- Payment processing happens with Apple or Stripe; card numbers never reach our servers.
No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your reflections and to fix issues quickly when they are reported.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit your profile and delete content in the app, or submit a formal request through our data request form.
9. Children
Pausera is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pausera evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
